Oversized folio, authors' secretarial presentation copy with inscription to Queen Isabella II of Spain (1830-1904), with the closing, A.L.R.P de V.M. (a los reales pies de Vuestra Majestad), and dated 1891; twenty-six pages of text followed by eighteen collotype plates from photographs depicting art, weapons, shields, bark and woven fabric garments, basketry and garments woven from reeds, jewelry, scenes of village life, carved woodware, weaving tools, bamboo articles, including musical instruments, spoons, pipes, and other examples of indigenous Filipino material culture from nine ethnic groups in North Luzon; bound in contemporary full leather with a striping motif alternating calf and morocco, lettered in gilt, 18 1/2 x 13 1/2 in.
