Later edition, octavo, signed "sincerely" by Micheaux in blue ink on the front free fly leaf; bound in publisher's red cloth stamped in gilt; a bit bumped, dampstain affecting spine and upper edge of lower board; in the original damaged dust jacket; spine perished with some losses to edges/corners; 8 3/8 x 5 1/4 in.

Micheaux, dubbed the "Czar of Black Hollywood," began his lengthy career writing novels; many of which would become the source material for his celebrated films.
