First edition, first issue, octavo, two parts in one volume with divisional title for Samson Agonistes (collation continuous); with misprint "loah" on page 67 instead of "loth" in Paradise Regained; engraved portrait bound opposite general title page; lacking the imprimatur leaf, errata in second state; ex libris George Lloyd Esq., with his engraved armorial bookplate pasted inside front board; signature of Susanna Georgiana Lloyd dated 1830 written below; old inscription washed from general title; bound in contemporary speckled calf, rebacked; with original marbled edges intact; housed in custom folding case; 6 3/4 x 4 1/2 in.
