1) Solitude, 1880, etching printed in dark brown ink on cream wove paper with full margins; 135 x 190 mm; 5¼ x 7½ in.

2) Gardiner's Bay L. I., Seen from Fresh Pond, 1881, etching printed in dark brown ink on cream wove paper with full margins; 200 x 290 mm; 7⅞ x 11⅜ in.

Scottish Moran studied art with her husband, and exhibited at the National Academy of Design in New York. She taught herself etching at home while her husband was traveling through the American West in 1879. Her experimentations from life with the etching needle were full of originality, and often praised by critics; she was also elected into the New York Etching Club.
