Complete later edition of Münster's very successful cosmography, a massive chronicle of geographical knowledge of the world first published in 1544. The maps include two versions of the World (modern vs. Ptolemaic) and the four continents. Double-page plans of London, Paris, Venice, Lisbon, Florence, Frankfurt, Constantinople, Jerusalem, Cairo and Cusco are found throughout, as well as views of smaller cities and woodcut illustrations of historical subjects, mythology, natural history and ethnography. Also included are 2 large folding panoramas of Vienna and Heidelberg, a queenly personification in "Euorpa Regia" and a roiling double-page presentation of sea monsters. Colophon and printer's device appear on the final leaf.
