Two letters and a flyer advertising a meeting to promote a House Bill proposing a National Memorial to all of the African Americans who had participated in America's wars since the Revolution. This bill, was introduced by the Honorable L.C. Dyer of Missouri. It was Representative Dyer, a staunch civil rights advocate, who introduced the anti-lynching bill to Congress. The Memorial did not come about until the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, slated to open its doors in 2016.
