The dome and silhouette of St. Isaac's Cathedral in present-day Saint Petersburg is seen from across the Neva River. Under the Communist Government, the Cathedral was turned into a museum (of Atheism). The impressive structure is recognizable even through the fog, though the spire was likely the artist's invention, as no architectural record of such a large spire can be found. Intourist pl. 17.
