Additional Details

John Baptist Lucius Noel was an English mountaineer and filmmaker, best known for his film of the 1924 Mount Everest expedition titled "The Epic of Everest," which became the official record of the expedition. George Mallory, the lead mountaineer in the 1924 expedition, disappeared that June and remained missing, presumed dead, until his body's discovery in 1999. This added a certain amount of drama to Noel's film, but it was not a commercial success. Noel is reported to have received the final correspondence from Mallory.
