NORMAN DOLPH
Untitled (Boy on Tricycle).

Felt-tip pen and ink on canvas, circa 1992. 1067x1067 mm; 42x42 inches.

Provenance: Collection of the artist, New York and Connecticut; thence by descent to the current owner.

The current work represents the son of Ben Berillo (1928-2022) the artist and a key figure in the American Pop Art movement, who was a friend and artistic advisor to Norman Dolph. When Dolph visited Berillo at his apartment in New York, Berillo's son would cruise around the rooms on his tricycle and alarm Dolph, thinking he would crash into Berillo's art and cause it damage.
