The Dominion Line was founded in 1870 and originally connected Liverpool and New Orleans, but that southern route was abandoned in favor of a connection with Canada. They were taken over by the White-Star Line in 1908 and continued operating under the joint name until 1926, when the service was renamed White Star Line (Canadian Services). It is curious to note that the ships depicted bear different funnel colors, the buff with black top being the colors of White Star Line and the red, with white band and black top the colors of the Dominion line.
