O. LOUIS GUGLIELMI
Untitled (Two Women in Conservation).

Pen and ink with gouache heightening on green laid paper, circa 1943. 275x195 mm; 10 3/4x7 1/2 inches. Signed in ink, lower right. Time stain.

John Baker, the Guglielmi expert, has confirmed the authenticity of this early drawing. According to Baker, this is a study for the figures in Recurrent Theme in Red, painted in 1943 and currently in the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis. This painting is figure 64 in John Baker's O. Louis Guglielmi: A Retrospective Exhibition, Rutgers University Art Gallery, 1980.
