"To compete with such majestic ships as the Cunard Line's Aquitania, the French Line's Ile de France, and the United States Line's Leviathan, Canadian Pacific Steamships launched the 45,000-ton Empress of Britain in 1930 . . . it was the largest ship operated by Canadian Pacific, and proudly took its place as the flagship of the fleet." (Canadian Pacific p. 44). Here the poster's imprint announces a cruise from New York on January 9, 1937.
