"'Uncle George' Haslam was an instructor in Journalism during O'Connor's career at Georgia State College for Women (as it was then called), advisor to the school newspaper called The Corinthian, in which she wrote, and occasional dinner guest with the O'Connor family" (Edmonson, p. 190).
