In an allegorical depiction of the old ways of the sea being replaced by the new, two sailors have stopped unfurling a sail and are waving at a passing luxry liner. Given the ship's profile, and Rosenvinge's talent as a nautical painter, she would appear to be the Aquitania<>-- a ship depicted by the artist in at least two other posters.
