Additional Details

Oaxaqueña con un collar oro echoes the Mexican folk art aesthetic, likely inspired by Olga Costa's large collection of Mexican folk art and archeological artifacts which she later donated to museums in Guanajuato. Gold was especially important, and even sacred, to Pre-Columbian societies like the Aztecs. It is similarly exalted in this painting.
