". . . A few days ago I received a topographical survey of the site selected by Senator Stanford for the University, and next week, after I return from a visit . . . to Niagara, I shall proceed with a study of a plan. I have written the Senator that he can expect nothing from me before the last of the month at earliest.
". . . I w'd have liked to hear you talk to Agassiz. He is quite of your mind in regard to the University."
