Rayo (1928-2010) was a renowned Colombian painter and sculptor. He was one of the leading Op Art practitioners in Latin America during the 1960-70s. In 1981, he founded, along with the Colombian government, a museum bearing his name, devoted to modern Latin American art, in his hometown of Roldanillo (near Cali).
