Roman type. with seven white-vine initials in colors and gold of varying sizes, the largest on recto of second leaf, with painted arms of the caroli family of bologna at bottom; over 150 two- to four-line initials in burnished gold on blue, magenta, or green ground with penwork decoration in contrasting colors; paragraph marks in red or blue throughout. Folio, 270x189 mm, modern 1/4 blind-tooled morocco over wooden boards with brass catches and clasps in period style; light foxing, small wormholes in approximately the first 40 leaves repaired not impairing legibility, occasional minor fingersoiling.
