Schlemmer was a multi-faceted artist who was a Master at the Bauhaus from 1920 to 1929. He is best known for his work with choreography, particularly his geometric Triadisches Ballet, but was also an accomplished painter, sculptor and designer. Pictured is an early variation of Schlemmer's Bauhaus Seal, a geometric face in profile, an iconic image that went on to become closely associated with the Bauhaus. Rademacher p. 150, MoMA 433.1985.
