Baumberger was one the most prolific Swiss graphic designers, and also one of the most versatile. His posters switched nimbly between the near photographic representation of objects via the Neue Sachlichkeit; minimal typographic creations; abstract and realistic landscapes and concise Art Deco designs, as is the case in this poster. He artfully presents profile silhouettes reading newspapers. Perhaps the three heads reinforce the newspaper's claim of appearing three times a day. The typography is cleverly arranged along two diagonals, which along with the people's faces, helps create intense movement within the image to highlight the message. Baumberger 144, Swiss Poster p. 134.
