OTTOMAR ANTON (1895-1976) IN 2 DAYS ACROSS THE ATLANTIC. Circa 1936.
33x23 inches, 84x58 1/2 cm.
Condition B+ / B: creases, abrasions and scratches in margins and image; minor tears and losses at edges.
The Hindenburg making its way over the Atlantic Ocean is cleverly juxtaposed with an old clipper ship below it to emphasize the speed of the new airship. Curiously, the Hindenburg (which, by 1937, was being used as a propaganda tool as well as a means of transportation) was known to have two prominently painted swastikas on its tailfins, but here only one is depicted. English version. Airlines p. 37.
