Quarto, A4, A-O8, P6; lacking frontispiece, woodcut of a sundial on title page, numerous text woodcut illustrations and tables throughout; an edition was printed in 1614, the preface here is dated 1637, which suggests that the text was likely updated for this edition; bound in modern half parchment with fabric-covered boards, aeg, some slight wormtrails in the gutter, 7 1/2 x 5 1/2 in.
Oddi was an engineer and professor of mathematics, he also wrote a history of Galileo's compass entitled Fabrica et Uso del Compasso Polimetro, in 1633.
