Eight parts in eight octavo volumes; translated from Spanish to French by François de Rosset (1571-1619) & Louis Douët; engraved printer's device to first title page; bound in full 18th century gilt-tooled French calf for Charles-Henri, Comte d'Hoym, Saxon ambassador to the court of Versailles, with his gilt arms on all boards, sold as lot 2753 in his 1738 sale; ex libris London bookseller James Toovey (1814-1893) with his gilt label; spines ornately gilt, each with two red morocco lettering pieces (some worming to the top edge of volume VI; some joints cracking, generally very nicely preserved); 6 1/2 x 4 in.
