PABLO PICASSO (AFTER)
L'Attente.

Color offset lithograph, 1966. 575x460 mm; 22⅝x18⅛ inches, full margins. Artist's proof, aside from the edition of 60. Signed and inscribed "EA" in pencil, lower margin. Published by the Museo Picasso, Barcelona. From the Barcelona Suite. A very good impression with vibrant colors.

Established in Barcelona in 1963, the Museo Picasso's collection comprises over 4,200 of Picasso's works in all media from different periods, much of it donated by the artist himself and his lifelong friend Jaume Sabartés, with particular emphasis on those from his formative years. The museum itself is made up of five Catalan, Gothic style palazzos dating from the 13th and 14th centuries in Barcelona's La Ribera district.

The set of five signed color offset lithographs, known as the Barcelona Suite, was commissioned in honor of Picasso's 85th birthday. Aside from the large poster edition of 2,000 unsigned impressions with the added text, a deluxe edition of 60 signed and numbered impressions, as well a handful of proof impressions before the text, were also published by the Museo Picasso in 1966.
