Picasso (1881-1973) was involved with Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes from 1917 to 1924, and his designs for the ballet Le Tricorne are considered his most successful. During his work on the set and costume designs, Picasso met Olga Khokhlova, the Russian ballerina who he would eventually marry in 1918. Picasso's maquettes chosen for Le Tricorne were published by Paul Rosenberg as color pochoirs in the current portfolio. Rosenberg helped Picasso and Khokhlova settle on rue de la Boétie in Paris, where Rosenberg's office was located and became the artist's agent from 1918 to 1940. Cramer Books 8.
