This was used as the poster to announce the major retrospective exhibition of Picasso's work on the occasion of his 85th birthday in 1966 at the Grand Palais--Petit Palais, Bibliothèque National, Paris. The dedicatee, Blaise Gautier, was one of the founders of the Centre National d'Art Contemporain, Paris, and he became its first director from 1968-78. Czwiklitzer 250.
