PABLO PICASSO
Claude et Paloma faisant de l'aquarelle.

Etching on thin, smooth, cream wove paper, 1955. 293x231 mm; 11 5/8x9 1/8 inches, full margins. One of only several proofs (Baer cites one proof on Italian antique laid paper and 4 proofs on Arches wove paper). Signed in red crayon, lower right. Splitting on the plate mark upper left, the lower 1/2-inch of the lower margin folded, well outside the signature and plate mark, scattered minor fraying at the extreme sheet edges. A superb impression of this extremely scarce proof, with printer's ink smudges in the margins and with crisp, inky plate edges.

We have not found another impression at auction in the past 20 years.

A representation of the artist's son and daughter making watercolors. Bloch 1361; Baer 910.
