In this portfolio, Picasso (1881-1973) created 4 powerfully illustrative images using a significant economy of line. Rembrandt excelled using the same technique occasionally; with only a handful of lines he suggested a distant wooded landscape in "The Baptism of the Eunuch" (see lot 17), sketched an arched doorway and a landscape in "Three Oriental Figures (Jacob and Laban ?)" (see lot 55) and rendered the loosely hanging garments on the "Beggar in a High Cap, Standing and Leaning on a Stick" (see lot 46). Bloch 468-71; Bloch Books 44.
