PABLO PICASSO
Paloma et Claude.

Lithograph on cream wove paper, 1950. 325x531 mm; 12 7/8x21 inches, full margins. Artist's proof, before the printed inscription lower center, aside from the edition of 2000 for the cover of Mourlot, Picasso lithographe. Signed in blue pencil and dated "le 16.4.50" in pencil, lower center. A very good impression.

Designed by Picasso as the cover for the second volume of Mourlot's catalogue raisonné of his lithographs. According to Passeron, Picasso made this print using a finger painting technique, applying the greasy lithographic ink to the stone with his bare fingers. Bloch 664; Mourlot 186; Reuße 531.
