A classic, early travel poster, from France's renowned PLM railway, showing off the fine sites in the major Italian cities through which the trains run. This kind of literal style was entirely in vogue at the turn-of-the-century, spearheaded by Hugo d'Alesi, who created a vast ouevre of similar images and ran an eponymous printing house. Here classic Italian vistas are presented within a decorative border topped with a winged wheel.
