Genuine second edition of Pascal's posthumously published final work, an unfinished defense of the Catholic faith, published the same year as the original edition and a piracy. Printing and the Mind of Man 152; Tchemerzine (1977) V, 70. The binding is an early example by Adams (1862-1952), whose career began in the late 1890s, and one of a substantial number she executed for Hornby.
