PAUL BERTHON (1872-1909) LES BOULES DE NEIGE. 1900. 17 3/4x21 3/4 inches, 45x55 1/4 cm. Condition A. Paper. Matted and framed. Berthon was a disciple of Eugène Grasset as well as a friend and unabashed admirer. While he adopted all the principles that he learned from the master, he executed them with his own personal flair. Pastel-hued representations of pale pre-Raphaelite women were characteristics of his work. Although he died very young, the relatively few lithographs he produced belong to the best of the French Art Nouveau movement. Arwas 53.
