Each 160 x 355mm; 6 1/2x13 1/2inches, Signed in ink, professionally matted and framed together in archival acrylic and black wooden frame, matte window showing "Roughs for Esso Oil Poster" to right of top image. 2 loose sheets with charcoal studies for same design laid into envelope attached to verso, images measure 110x245mm; 4 1/2x9 3/4 inches, Initialed. Circa 1940.

Popular book and magazine illustrator Bransom was known as the "Dean of America's Wildlife Artists." His best known animal illustrations for books were Jack London's The Call of the Wild and Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows.
