Oil on canvas, circa 1923-25. 615x426 mm; 24 1/4x19 3/4 inches. Signed in oil, lower right recto.

With a copy of a letter from Cadmus regarding the painting, which he made during an early fellowship at the Louis Comfort Tiffany estate in Laurelton, New York (near Oyster Bay), on Long Island.

Exhibited "Paul Cadmus, Yesterday & Today," Miami Art Museum, Oxford, Ohio, September 12-October 25, 1981; and with a photocopy loan request letter from Midtown Galleries, New York.

Camdus left public school in New York as a teen to attend the National Academy of Design for six years. During the 1920s, he worked as a commercial illustrator in New York and continued his studies at the Art Students League.
