Two Floral Still Lifes with Pink and Yellow Roses: a Pair .

Both watercolor and gouache on wove paper. Both approximately 146x360 mm; 53/4x141/8 inches. One sheet with the estate ink stamp, lower right recto.

Baudry was a pupil of Drolling. He received the Prix de Rome in 1850 and regularly showed at the Salon from 1852 onward. His fame rests on numerous portraits and, above all, on his extensive decorative projects, including his 33 portraits for the foyer of the Paris Opéra.
