Following numerous awards for his work, Paul Landacre was elected to the National Acadmey of design in 1939. In an article for the Los Angeles Times, Arthur Miller noted that Rockwell Kent named Landacre the finest wood engraver in the country. Landacre considered this work among his best prints, placing it with a group selected especially for his wife Margaret.
