PEACE AND FREEDOM / WORLD'S FAIR NEW YORK. 1940.
30x20 inches. Polygraphic Company of America, New York.
Condition B+: minor tears and creases in margins; pinholes in corners. Paper.
Standing at the end of the Fair's Constitution Mall, "a broad avenue with pools, fountains, lawns, flower borders, shade trees and heroic statuary" (World of Tomorrow p. 30), with the Trylon and Perisphere in the background, is a 60 foot-high statue of George Washington in his inaugural robes, by James Earle Fraser. One of the least commonly seen New York World's Fair posters.
