(PEDIATRIC ORTHOPEDICS.) Album of 84 silver print photographs of 21 patients before and after treatment, including 12 of x-rays, measuring 118x89 mm and smaller, some captioned and dated 1928 or 1929 in reverse, apparently in the negative; mounted 2-5 per page on 18 leaves of heavy dark brown paper with handwritten captions in German in white ink. Oblong folio, 259x350 mm, contemporary side-laced padded leather boards, cover edges heavily worn with leather partly separated from backing; contents clean. [Germany, circa 1928-29]
Apart from one twenty-year-old, the patients range in age from 1 to 13 and were treated for bow legs, spastic diplegia, foot drop, congenital clubfoot, paralytic clubfoot, hammer toe, hollow foot, pes equinus, ostitis fibrosa localisata, hallux valgus, paralytic clubfoot, congenital hallux varus, hysterical paralysis of the arm, and coxa vara duplex. Inside the front cover is written "Dr. med. Hans Winter" above a mounted small double portrait photo that may or may not be of him. A physician of that name was affiliated with the Orthopädische Universitätsklinik in Frankfurt am Main around the time these photos were taken.
