Trompf, one of Australia's preeminent poster artists, began his artistic career designing chocolate boxes and candy wrappers for a Melbourne confectioner. He soon opened his own studio and went on to design hundreds of travel posters. "His bright, colourful, optimistic pictures had wide appeal, especially during the Depression . . . but his most popular posters drew upon historical events (Captain Cook's landing at Botany Bay and the building of the Sydney Harbour Bridge)." (Australian Dictionary of Biography, http://adb.anu.edu.au/biography/trompf-percival-albert-percy-8855). This is the large format. Monash p. 13.
