After studying with Hans Hoffman in New York, Fine (1905-1988) befriended Hilla Rebay of the Guggenheim Foundation. At the Guggenheim Museum, Fine met Jackson Pollock, who was working as a guard, and she became one of the earliest supporters of his style of painting. These early, scarce prints show her interest in various New York Abstract Expressionists, including Pollock, Willem de Kooning (for the lithograph) and Franz Kline.
