This photograph of Johnny Rotten is from the first Sex Pistols photo shoot, taken February 1976 by Peter Christopherson. An industrial music pioneer via his membership in the band Throbbing Gristle and partner in the London-based design group Hipgnosis, Christopherson designed numerous memorable album covers in the 1960s and 1970s. He went on to become a celebrated director of music videos. Christopherson's office was located in the same building as the first rehearsal space of the Sex Pistols. This copy, liklely unique, was printed at the time.
