Built for the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) in 1929, the Royal York Hotel was the largest of the CPR's coast-to-coast chain of grand hotels. The skyscraper, designed primarily by Montreal architects Ross and Macdonald, was the largest hotel in the British Commonwealth and dramatically altered the Toronto skyline. Not in Canadian Pacific.
