Additional Details

It is impossible to overstate the importance of Phillips's work on the Sackners. They were first drawn to conceptual word art after seeing
a portion of most famous artist's book, A Humument, on exhibit in Switzerland in 1975. They eventually purchased the finished book. It became the cornerstone of the collection which they officially named the Sackner Archive of Visual and Concrete Poetry in 1979.
