Spring.

Engraving, 1570. 170x271 mm; 6 3/4x10 3/4 inches. First state (of 3), with the address of Cock lower right. From the Four Seasons. Ex-collection Albert van Loock (Lugt 3752, verso); and unknown collector, indiscernible ink stamp verso. Trimmed inside the plate mark, with most of the subject preserved. A superb, early impression of this very scarce engraving, with strong contrasts and no sign of wear.

We have found fewer than 10 other impressions at auction, either individually or in the set of the Four Seasons, at auction in the past 25 years. Hollstein 200; Bastelaer 200; Lebeer 77.
