Collection of gynecological and obstetrical texts. Gassendi's description of a case of persistent foramen ovale appears on pages 362-64. Pineau's work on virginity, first published in 1597, gave the first account of vestigial foramen ovale in the adult heart (see Garrison-Morton 802). Bedford 210.<
