Additional Details

Politzer (1835-1920) was one of the outstanding figures in the history of otology, transforming it into a modern specialty through his research, clinical innovations, and prolific writings on the subject.
The drawings are identified in the captions as having been done by Politzer himself, with his Gonzagastrasse address in Vienna included on the depiction of his study. Both have additional pencil sketches of unidentified subjects on the reverse, presumably also by him.
