Patricia Dowd Whitman was an admired staff member at The MoMA from 1974 until she retired in 2007. She was responsible for building relationships with donors and artists such as Dorothea Rockburne, Tom Otterness, and Jeanne-Claude and Christo. From 1990 until her retirement, she was the Director of the Contemporary Arts Council at MoMA.
