Pencil and ink on tan wove paper, signed in full and dated July 28 1924, also ink, 189x125 mm (frame); plain black wooden frame with original owner's note on back (thus unexamined out of frame). Charming illustration by Potter created on her 58th birthday. The owner's pencil note states: "Original drawing by Beatrix Potter given to us by her on her 58th birthday in her home in Sawrey Westmoreland, England July 1924." A later gift inscription by that owner, dated 1943, in ink, appears above it.
