third edition. Nancy Prince (1799-1856) was born in Newburyport of American Indian and Negro blood. She worked at various jobs to support her mother and several siblings. In 1824, she married Nero Prince, who worked for the Tsar of Russia. She spent the next nine years in St.Petersburg. In 1841, she returned to the United States, but was widowed before her husband could rejoin her. She then became a missionary to Jamaica.
