Second edition of the Ruscelli translation into Italian from the Greek original. Similar to the 1561 edition and containing the same maps. Maps are largely based on those of Gastaldi in the 1548 edition, but on a larger scale. It is in the Ruscelli edition that the world first appears in double-hemispheric format. This edition is also noteworthy for its inclusion of the Zeno map of the Arctic area. Sabin 66504.
